Partner Profile: Heirloom Candle by Izola

October 15, 2019

As the days grow dimmer and the air a bit crisper, the kitchen crew at Heirloom Cookshop finds ourselves craving the comforts that come with the annual transition to autumn: hearty grains, plush jackets, steamy soups, and scented candles. You’ll notice that our menus have been updated to include more warming foods alongside your usual favorites -- like farro and delicata or chorizo butternut squash soup.

In addition to adding a bit of autumn to our plates, we’ve also spruced up the Heirloom Cookshop boutique to reflect the change in season with a few new kitchen accessories. Not surprisingly, one of our favorite additions to the kitchen is a tomato-scented candle which bears our same name! Handcrafted by Izola and hand-poured in America, the Heirloom candle gives an olfactory nod to warmer, dusty days with its sweet and vegetal scent, reminiscent of the late summer fruit. With a fragrance more herbal and earthy than fruity or spicy, this candle burns just as pleasantly on your kitchen island as it does the coffee table; strong enough to invite memories of outdoor markets, but subtle enough to compliment the aroma of your Sunday roast.

Just like the Cookshop, the Heirloom candle is a product of sustainable practices. All of Izola’s candles are made from 100% vegetable wax and presented in repurposed green glass containers. With a robust burn time of 60 hours, you can enjoy this wick through the entire autumn season. Pick yours up in the cookshop!
